Okay, let me tell you how I ended up being a writer. I wanted to be a police inspector when I was very young. Then I changed my mind because my grandfather announced one day in front of his friends that his genius granddaughter would be a lawyer. I loved and respected him so much that I started thinking of being a lawyer. The feeling was there until I came to Kathmandu and met the father of my friend Bibhor Baral who told me Bibhor was doing a writing competition. The first story I had written about a young girl and her desire to get a pi-pi shoes for that competition. Of course, it was my story.
I am Anbika Giri, 26 years old. I live in Kathmandu with my daughter Awani Giri and a sister Asha Rai.
